The major of construction management has been recruiting undergraduate students since 2005, which became part of Department of engineering management with the major of construction cost in 2017. Discipline of engineering management has two undergraduate programs of construction management and construction cost, professional master program of engineering management and level-1 academic master program of management science & engineering. Major of construction management is Anhui provincial comprehensive reform pilot program, and major of construction cost is high quality program in Anhui University of Finance and Economics.
The department dean of Engineering Management is Bingyun Zheng, the deputy deans are Huajun Ding and Yingmiao Qian. The department has 16 full-time teachers, among them there are 1 professor, 6 associate professors and 7 assistant professors, and there are 5 faculty teachers with Ph.D. degree, 5 Ph.D candidates and 6 teachers with master degree. Our distinguished faculty members include 1 backup candidate of Anhui Academic and Technical leaders, 2 selected into the leading talents and cultivation program in Anhui Colleges and Universities and 1 winner of Anhui provincial Advanced Individual of Teachers’Morality.
The faculty members of department are undertaking rich scientific and teaching research projects in aspects of engineering management and decisions. Over the latest 5 years, the department faculty has held 3 research projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the National Social Sciences Foundation of China, 15 provincial, and ministerial level research projects and numbers of various kinds of research projects. More than a hundred journal articles and conference papers are published, among them there are 10 SCI/SSCI/EI and 2 Chinese authoritative journal papers. At the same time, the department faculty is undertaking 4 provincial and numbers of university level teaching quality research projects. There are 10 model courses and excellent resource sharing courses. The department faculty focuses on training students in various discipline competitions. Students are actively participating in national Zhou Pei-Yuan competition in mechanics and national advanced mapping technology and product information modeling innovation contest and winning more than a hundred of provincial awards.
The department faculty is putting emphasis on practice teaching and form a practical teaching system of course experiments, social practice, comprehensive training and academic discipline competition, with significant achievements in social practice and academic discipline competition. In 2017, the department arranged more than 500 students to social practice bases, there were 35 awards for various academic discipline competitions.
